13 September 2008

September the 13th 2008 five blasts rocked the Indian capital Delhi at around 6:15pm. This time also the blasts took place on a weekend at major shopping locations claiming atleast 20 innocent lives and injuring 100. Bomb blasts seem to have become a major past time for these cowards who even go to the extent of claiming that no one can stop them. Well there is no need to stop them because they can't be stopped. It's humanely not at all possible to provide security to all the cities of the country or even the whole world.

But these blasts seem to generate good revenue for our 24*7 news channels. Repeating the same thing again and again they just don't seem to get tired. The same gory pictures keep flashing on the screen again and again. And this trend is going to carry on for the next few days where every human activity will be related to these blasts. Barkha Dutt will pop on screen with a very sympathetic face and ask questions to her high flying panelists on the issue of terror. I would say someone stop Barkha first. Although  it's not out of hate but due to a growing sense of frustration as an individual who also happens to be a Journalist.

What makes things even more ridiculous is the statement by the Home Minister Shivraj Patil who says that the strictest punishment will be accorded to the perpetrators according to law. I ask how long this is going to take again. We are still waiting for something to happen on the Parliament attack case. Our wait still continues to bring justice to those behind the Mumbai blasts, Jaipur blasts, Bangalore blasts, Ahmedabad blasts and the list is just endless.
The police makes some quick arrests and investigation continues. And when finally something concrete is arrived at we see nothing to be done.

Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, L.K.Advani, Shiela Dixit just hear their messages to calm the people. You must have remembered it by heart because it's the same old monotonous thing which they repeat each and everytime. We will bring the people behind these acts to justice.

When is that day going to come. I guess when half the country is wiped out by these attacks.
